THE CENTER FOR ONLINE ADDICTION ANNOUNCES NEW SUPPORT SITE FOR CYBERWIDOWS

BRADFORD, PA – May 31, 2004 – The Center for Online Addiction announced today that it will offer a new online support site for “CyberWidows” as part of its range of client services.  The Center, a leading consultation firm for corporations and healthcare companies dealing with Internet abuse, has been offering individual, couples, and family counseling for Internet addicts since March of 1997.  “Internet infidelity is the biggest problem we treat and we wanted to offer a listing of services and special place devoted to this growing issue,” says Dr. Kimberly Young, director of the Center for Online Addiction.

“Over 50% of our clients are individuals and couples struggling in the aftermath of an online affair,” states Young, also the author of Caught in the Net, the first book to address online adultery.  A recent survey by the American Academy of Matriomonial Lawyers found that 63% of attorneys reported that divorce cases were caused by online affairs.  In an effort to help couples deal with the affects of this new form of infidelity, The CyberWidows Support Center” provides counseling, articles, links, and tests to help individuals involved in an online affair.  The site also provides support for their partners to understand the dynamics of virtual based cheating and outlines coping skills and strategies for recovery. For couples that want to save their marriage after an online affair, the support center also provides links to Dr. Young’s new e-booklet “Infidelity Online: An Effective Guide for Rebuilding Your Relationship after a Cyberaffairr” that can be instantly downloaded.

The Center for Online Addiction is the first recovery firm and web-based resource network to specialize in cyber-related problems.  Netaddiction.com offers e-consumers self-evaluation tests, research articles, referral links, an e-newsletter, and an online bookstore.  Our professional services include personal coaching, corporate seminars, healthcare training, program development, and forensic evaluations. Dr Kimberly Young, a licensed psychologist, founded the company in January of 1995 and today the Center for Online Addiction is internationally recognized as the leading healthcare resource for online disorders.
